salam all...
ini adalah entry berbaur sakit dan pedih di sekitar throat anda sayee. cerita nya bermula begini;
selasa 9 nov sayee ada technical meeting kat bentong. ujung minggu sebelom tu kan cooti 3 hari. sayee sungguh excited sbb jarang dpt cooti lama (3 hari je pon dah kecoh). oleh itu, mood bercooti tu macam agak awal sampai dari yang sepatutnya. maka, sebelom cooti tu sayee tak dpt menyiapkan laporan utk meeting. isnin 8nov, sayee terpaksa lah OT smpi ke mlm. kul 11 baru balik. abg abdul pun kena angkut ke pejabat skali.
diringkaskan cerita, sayee demam ari selasa tu sbb x cukup tdo kot. lgpun skang kan musim ujan dan mendung dan sejuk mcm ada salji plak kat pantai timur ni. maka, sayee pun demam lah satu das. lepas mtg, smpi umah dah kul 8 lebey kurang. mmg demam sungguh-sungguh dah.
again, diringkaskan cerita. sayee tak larat nak g keje ari rabu. pagi-pagi sayee rehat kat umah sementara tunggu abg abdul settle kan keje, baru bole bawak sayee g klinik. di klinik, doktor tu check. dia kata, tongsilitis!!! dush dush dush!!! dan dia suggestkan suh buang, sbb sayee citer sebelom ni kalau sayee demam, mesti sebab tongsil bengkak. sayee ingatkan bende biasa. tapi doktor kata tongsil tu yang menyebabkan sayee selalu demam. dush dush!!
masa tu sayee masuk dlm bilik doktor sorang-sorang, abg abdul tunggu kat luar. bila sebut pasal operation, sayee terus panggil abg abdul masuk jmpa doktor. bila doktor dah bagi tarikh untuk buat operation ni, sayee terus jadi berdebar semacam je. tak yakin nak buat. meh kita buat review sket.
Tonsillitis is an inflammation of the tonsils most commonly caused by viral or bacterial infection. Symptoms of tonsillitis include sore throat and fever. While no treatment has been found to shorten the duration of viral tonsillitis, bacterial causes may be treatable with antibiotics.
Acute tonsillitis is caused by both bacteria and viruses and will be accompanied by symptoms of ear pain when swallowing, bad breath, and drooling along with sore throat and fever. In this case, the surface of the tonsil may be bright red or have a grayish-white coating, while the lymph nodes in the neck may be swollen.
Common symptoms of tonsillitis include:
- red and/or swollen tonsils
- white or yellow patches on the tonsils
- tender, stiff, and/or swollen neck
- bad breath
- sore throat
- painful or difficult swallowing
- cough
- headache
- sore eyes
- body aches
- fever
- chills
- nasal congestions
The most common causes of tonsilitis are the common cold viruses. The second most common causes are bacterial. Under normal circumtances, as viruses and bacteria enter the body through the nose and mouth, they are filtered in the tonsils. Within the tonsils, white blood cells of the immune system mount an attack that helps destroy the viruses or bacteria, and also causes inflammation and fever. The infection may also be present in the throat and surrounding areas, causing inflammation of the pharynx. This is the area in the back of the throat that lies between the voice box and the tonsils. Sometimes, tonsilitis is caused by an infection of spirochaeta and treponema, in this case calles Plaut.
About Tonsillectomies
Doctors might recommend surgical removal of the tonsils, called a tonsillectomy for a patient who has one or more of the following:
- persistent or recurrent tonsillitis or strep infections
- swollen tonsils that make it hard to breathe, particularly during sleep
- difficulty eating meat or chewy foods
- sleep difficulty that might be affecting the patient's daily activities
- snoring and obstructive sleep apnea (when someone stops breathing for a few seconds at a time during sleep because enlarged tonsils are partially blocking the airway)
Surgery, no matter how common or simple the procedure, is often frightening for everybody. Prepare yourself for surgery by talking about what to expect. During the tonsillectomy:
- patient will receive general anesthesia. this means the surgery will be performed in an operating room so that an anesthesiologist can monitor the patient.
- the operation will take about 20 - 30 minutes.
- the surgeon can get to the tonsils through patient's open mouth - there's no need to cut through skin.
Patient will wake up in the recovery area. Expect to spend about 5 hours or a bit longer at the hospital. most kids go home on the same day, though some may require observation overnight. Rarely, patient may show signs of bleeding, which would require a return to the operating room. Depending on the surgical technique, the typical recuperation after a tonsillectomy may take several days to a week or more. Expect some pain and discomfort due to the exposure of the throat muscles after the tonsils are removed. This can affect patient's ability to eat and drink and return to normal activities.
sejak lappy yang sayee buat nov 2009, sayee jadi seriau bila sebut perkataan operation. mane tak nye, berbulan2 tak leh angkat berat, tak leh terjatuh, tak leh lasak2. kalau langgar pantang, mesti sakit. mcm ngilu sgt. eeee, takleh nak sambung taip pasal ni, terus perut rase kena hiris. T_T
ada info sayee dpt dari sorang best friend, dia ni nurse. dia kata, kalau sakit mungkin jugak disebabkan oleh organ dalaman kita macam berjerepet / terhimpit/ melekat satu sama lain. sbb tu lepas operation akan ada follow up dengan pihak hospital semula. sayee penah pegi sekali je. masa tu 2 bulan lepas operate. masa tu tak sakit. doktor kata, kalau ada rase sakit terus g emergency semula. tapi sayee cuma g klinik aje. doktor klinik tu kata mmg kalau operate kat bahagian abdomen, 7/8 tahun lom tentu sembuh sepenuhnya. skang ni, sayee dah lama tak sakit. mungkin sbb sayee dah lama tak angkat berat, tak jatuh, dan jaga pantang larang mknn. alhamdulillah.
tapi, baru je nak baik betol2, dah sebut lagi pasal operation. waduh, mmg sayee tak yakin nak undergo this operation lagi.

~~dlu masa bujang, sayee selalu tertanya-tanya, nak ke abg abdul jaga sayee kalau sayee sakit terlantar kat hospital. hurmm???
